Bid goes in

At a well-attended meeting at the Brook Inn, investors were told the news that a bid has been submitted to buy the pub. While the committee cannot discuss figures for commercial reasons, pub-goers were told the offer was put in on 8th October and an acknowledgement received from the estate agents. We think it is a competitive and realistic offer.

So far we have received around 45 pledges of varying amounts towards the purchase of the Brook Inn…but we still need more in order to realise the long term security of the pub. Now is not the time to think ‘job done’…it isn’t. We would urge all those people who are thinking of making a pledge to do so and to encourage others to do likewise.

We will let investors, villagers and others know of any developments via the website or email as and when it happens.

Thanks again to Alan Tolfrey for allowing us to stage the meeting at the pub.
